Do you remember the hoverboards from the movie Back to the Future? Few months ago, Hendo hoverboards took the internet by storm and this crazy machine came into the limelight once again. Now, it’s time to meet the first real-life hoverboard and watch the history being made by Catalin Alexandru Duru who became the first person ever to create and break the Guinness World Record. Recently he created the world record for the farthest journey ever by a hoverboard.
According to the Guinness World Record organization, this astonishing record is created by the Canadian inventor Catalin.
In the video shown above, he rises 16 feet above the surface of water and then flies ahead for about 900 feet. For setting the world record a flight of 50 meters was needed, but Duru travelled a five times more distance.
Duru says, “The first real-life hoverboard. The machine was built and designed by me, Catalin Alexandru Duru. I am the first man to create and fly a working prototype.”
“I will showcase that stable flight can be achieved with a machine one can stand on and control with their feet, just like in the movie “Back to the Future Part II”. In our case, the machine is propeller-based,” he added.
This prototype could be used at any place, but it is usually tested over water because it can fly to a great height. Currently, more details about the device are unavailable but it appears as if the hoverboard is being controlled using the body weight shifting.
There’s also no information about the possible launch of the device into the market.
